Fakhru Bhai succumbs to ‘political’ pressure to refuse accepting SC orders

Islamabad, Jan 23 (www.pakdestiny.com) Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G Ibrahim has succumbed to the alleged pressure of MQM and refused to carry out delimitation and verifying of voters’ lists in Karachi.
It a shame for Fakhru Bhai, who otherwise never tires of saying, that the Supreme Court’s orders will be implemented in letter and spirit.
The SC had directed the Election Commission of Pakistan to conduct delimitation of Karachi besides verifying the voters’ lists. But Fakhru Bhai’s refusal gives credence to the reports that he could not bear the pressure of MQM to defy even the orders of the SC. Parties like PML-Q and Jamaat-i-Islami have condemned the ECP for failing to implement the SC orders.
Will CJ Iftikhar Chaudhry take suo motu against Fakhru Bhai for his defiance. Let’s see.
