Gilani is fifth victim of Zardari’s ‘smart’ politics after Nawaz, Mirza, Awan and Abidi

By Raza Ruman

Islamabad, Oct 7 (www.pakdestiny.com) Former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani is the fifth victim of President Zardari’s Chankia like ‘smart’ politics.
‘Use and dump’ is what Mr Zardari is good at and his political slogan.
First in line was PMLN chief Nawaz Sharif. Nawaz helped Zardari in ousting Musharraf from presidency. Once Zardari got his target he booted out the PMLN from the coalition government.
Second in line from his own party was Zulifqar Mirza who was tasked to hit out at MQM. Once the objective achieved Zardari distanced himself from Mirza.
Then comes his old legal guard Babar Awan. He was directed to target Iftikhar’s judiciary. Once Awan became a liability for being charged with contempt of court and his reluctance to testify in favour of Yousuf Raza Gilani in the court he was also dumped.
Faisal Raza Abidi was next in line to be picked by Zardari to throw venom at Iftikhar Chaudhry. To prove himself more loyal to the party co-chairman Abidi even started hurling abuses at Iftikhar in live TV talk shows.
As Iftikhar held his stick of suo motu high in Abidi case, Zardari disowned him completely.
Poor Gilani was the fifth victim of Zardari style of politics. He in ‘protecting’ Zardari from the clutches of Swiss authorities earned five-year disqualification from Iftikhar’s judiciary.
Now Zardari distanced himself from Gilani and even sent him packing from the presidency.
The PPP jialas are saying “long live Zardari politics”. (www.pakdestiny.com)
