Imran Khan needs to do Shahbaz-style of politics on drone issue

By Iram Salim

Islamabad, Nov 28 (Pak Destiny) PTI chairman Imran Khan needs to take some political lessons from Punjab Chief Minister Shahnaz Sharif if he wants to make its drone-supply policy a success.

Mr Khan has given a go-ahead to his workers to stop the Nato supply but on the other he is shying away from passing the same ‘order’ to the KPK government.

Shahbaz Sharif during his last tenure as chief minister not only used to lead the anti-loadshedding protests against the PPP’s federal government but also demanded ‘public hanging’ of former president Asif Ali Zardari. Even the PML-N activists resorted to violent protests making the headlines but the poor PPP had no clue how to counter it. Shahbaz was too smart that even he had set up a ‘tent office’ at Minar-i-Pakistan to protest against the loadshedding making the PPP to adopt defensive position on the issue.

In the case of Mr Khan, he is too shy to engage even his government in KPK in the drone-attack protest thus leaving no impact of it. Shahbaz’s protest policies against the PPP had literally made it a “criminal party” in the eyes of the people. On the other hand, PML-N’s politics is even making Khan and his party accused despite that it (PML-N) is on same page with the PTI over the issue. We hope that Mr Khan will learn something from the Shahbaz style of politics to force the PML-N to follow its (PTI) stance. -Pak Destiny
