Islamabad, April 23 (Pak Destiny) The Jang group has contacted former chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry for his help to rescue Geo News from getting off air.

As Defence ministry had filed a complaint in the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority for cancellation of Geo News license for maligning ISI on the issue of anchor Hamid Mir.
The Jang group has sent Ansar Abbasi to Iftikhar Chaudhry pleading him to speak to his friends in judiciary and stop the move to cancel Geo’s license.
Abbasi was an undeclared media spokesman of Iftikhar during his tenure as chief justice of the country.
Now Geo News is facing ban, it is using all its contacts in the government and outside the government.
Apart from Iftikhar, the Geo is largely banking on information minister Pervaiz Rashid who assured that he will go for all out help to save Geo from any ban. Rashid also said he had love for media (Geo).
It will be interesting to see how Iftkhar Chaudhry asks his friends in present judiciary to save its ‘five-year-old relationship with the group’. Iftikhar during his tenure openly patronized Jang group despite criticism from other media groups. – Pak Destiny
