No more your resignation now I want Saad Rafique’s one – Imran tells Nawaz

(Pak Destiny) One hopes that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at least accepts Imran Khan‘s demand of Railways Minister Khwaja Saad Rafique resignation over the tragic train accident in which seven minor children were killed in Lodhran district of Punjab.

Pakistan Tahreek-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan reached Lodhran the other day and condoled with the families of the seven children killed in the train accident on last Friday.

“Railways Minister Khwaja Saad Rafique should resign after this tragic train accident. The train accident was caused by negligence on part of the management and this is not the first time that such a tragic accident took place. If the management had spent enough on railway crossing, the communication system would have improved,” Khan said, adding Saad Rafique is responsible for this tragic accident and he should resign from the ministry.

Imran Khan’s demand for Saad Rafique’s resignation is more legitimate than demanding Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s resignation on Panamagate.

Panamagate is in the Supreme Court and it will give its final ruling while even in developing countries ministers resign over such tragic incidents. “Nawaz Sharif never gave a damn to Imran Khan’s demand of his resignation. But this time the premier should not ignore a very legitimate demand of the captain and send Rafique home for failing to put the railways on track,” believes a source in the ruling party.

“By either sacking Saad Rafique or forcing him to resign will not only help PM Sharif to set an example of good governance but also give some other member of his team to improve the affairs of the railways,” he said.

Saad Rafique is also accused of financial mismanagement and corruption in railways. Several complaints in this regards have been filed in the National Accountability Bureau. Let’s see if it initiates probe against him. — Pak Destiny
