PEMRA issues notice to ‘hate monger anchor’ on Pakdestiny report

Islamabad (Pakdestiny) Taking notice of “hate programme” of controversial anchor Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain on the report of Pakdestiny, the Pakistan Electronic Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has served a notice on him and the Geo Entertainment.
Aamir is accused of putting the lives of Ahmadiyya community members in danger by spreading hatred against it in his programes.
Jamaat Ahmadiyya Pakistan Saleemuddin said in a statement: “On Dec 22, 2014 participants in Geo TV’s morning show hosted by Aamir Liaquat Hhussain instigated hatred against Ahmadis which should not be ignored.”
Yesterday Lucman Ahad of Ahmadi community was shot dead in a faith-driven attack in Gujranwala and the anchor is somehow responsible for his murder.
“Last time in 2008 same channel with same host had aired a programme that called for death to Ahmadis and two prominent Ahmadis were shot dead in next two days of the programme,” Saleemuddin said and asked is there no law in this country that keeps a check on these hate mongers and anchors who spew hatred or give space to hate mongers openly?
Pakdestiny had reported the matter and the PEMRA subsequently took action against Aamir and Geo. The PEMRA has asked them to explain their position, otherwise he would not be allowedd to his programme. Lets see how this ‘hate monger’ survives this time? — Pak Destiny
