Islamabad (Pakdestiny) The Punjab government is waiting September 9 – the date of retirement of Justice Jawwad S Khawaja – who will remain chief justice for two months after assuming the office (Aug 17).
Once Justice Khawaja retires the Punjab government will try to postpone local body election in the largest province ‘for good’.
Justice Khawaja will assume the office of the country’s new Chief Justice on the 17th of this month.
President Mamnoon Hussain will administer oath of the office at the Presidency. The outgoing Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk will also be present in the ceremony.
Justice Jawwad S Khawaja will continue to be the Chief Justice of Pakistan till 9th of September this year.
Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali will become the Chief Justice of the country on the 9th of September upon the retirement of Justice Jawwad S Khawaja.
