Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone said that her ex-boyfriend and ‘Tamasha’ co-star Ranbir Kapoor will not get married till she gives her assent.
Well, it certainly seems like Deepika Padukone still holds sway over Ranbir Kapoor’s personal life!
Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s upcoming Imtiaz Ali-directed Tamasha will debut on November 27, which is not that far away. Hence, the two actors are busy these days promoting their upcoming flick and have plenty of time for the press. At a promotional event, the two were asked a barrage of questions and Ranbir Kapoor was quizzed regarding his potential marriage to girlfriend and actress Katrina Kaif.
“Ranbir can’t get married till I allow it,” said Deepika Padukone confidently. It is important to mention here that Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone used to date each other seven years ago, after they both starred in the flick Bachna Ae Haseeno. Since their break-up, the two have managed to remain cordial and starred in a couple of movies together, such as Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and now, Tamasha.
Ranbir Kapoor, who was also present, said that marriage was a big step in his life and that he would let the world know when he decides to take the plunge.
“It’s a very big question about my life. I completely believe in the institution of marriage. When I will get married, I will let the whole world know about it.”
Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have been two of India’s most renowned young actors, ever since they made their debut in the same year, 2008. While Ranbir Kapoor made his debut in 2008’s Saawariya, Deepika starred in Sanjay Leela-Bhansali’s Om Shanti Om.
“It feels just like yesterday. I saw Deepika outside ‘Saawariya’ sets walking across to ‘Om Shanti Om’ set. Eight years have passed and we have no idea. We have worked hard and reached the point we have desired for in our lives,” said Ranbir.
