Islamabad June 12 (http://www.pakdestiny.com) Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry after being fully exposed by Malik Riaz before 180million people of this country, who were under the delusion that he was the last hope of justice, is trying to drag Army Chief Gen Ashfaq Pervaz Kiyani in the controversy to save his skin.
The CJ who allegedly used to make huge financial deals through his son Arsalan is so much in stress that he in his last ditch effort is playing his card to given an impression to the people that he was “being framed”. How smart is his move as yesterday he said the frontier constabulary head should not have made a press conference and if the FC failed to deal with Balochistan issue the army chief could be summoned.
“The CJ is doing so because he wants to tell the people that he had challenged the might that way he is being victimized and finally be thrown out,” a senior lawyer of Supreme Court told pakdestiny.
The lawyer says the CJ and his sympathizer media group (Jung, Geo) are also trying hard to twist the facts saying the missing persons’ case was the main reason behind the latest ‘maligning’ campaign against Arsalan.
But the political circles believe that no one including the CJ’s media touts will not succeed in saving him from falling grace. “In two-number business you have to do one-numbry otherwise you cannot survive,” is a famous dialogue of Indian Hindi film ‘company’ and the CJ could not so.
Malik Riaz today holding the Holy Qura’n in his hand, the real estate tycoon Malik Raiz Tuesday opened a Pandora’s Box by quizzing Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on three counts during a press conference here.
“Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry should reveal how many times I (Malik Riaz) have met you in the middle of the night? Was Arsalan Iftikhar not a part of these meetings, does he not know me? The sitting Registrar was also present during several of these meetings.”
Secondly, he asked: “How many meetings were held at the residence of Ahmed Khalil between the Chief Justice and Prime Minister and was there not an acting judge of the Supreme Court present during one of the meetings?”
“How long did the Chief Justice know about this case and why did he wait till media reports to take suo moto notice,” Malik Riaz posed the third question.
Malik Riaz alleged that he was blackmailed and did not pay any bribes. He described Arsalan Iftikhar, son of the Chief Justice, as ‘don’, adding he was the one running the judiciary. (http://www.pakdestiny.com)
