Islamabad, July 7 (http://www.pakdestiny.com) Clash between PPP-led coalition government and Iftikhar-led judiciary seems imminent after Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry today announced striking down the government’s move to abolish contempt of court immunity for the president, prime minister, governors, chief ministers and ministers.
Justice Chaudhry seems in mood to give any let up to President Zardari and company to curtail his powers. He appears to be determined to send new premier Raja Pervez Ashraf home for not writing a letter to the Swiss authorities for reopening of graft cases against Zardari.
“We will strike down whatever will be against the Constitution. All citizens are equal thereby justice is also equal for all be it president or prime minister,” the CJ said while addressing lawyers today.
On the other hand Yousuf Raza Gilani who was sent home from the office of prime minister by Chaudhry said sarcastically “I followed on the Constitution and was sent packing. What Constitution he is now talking about.”
Another PPP leader Sharjil Memon said Iftikhar-led judiciary was conspiring against the PPP government.
“Since his son Arsalan’s corruption scandal has come to fore Iftikhar Chaudhry has become more vindictive against PPP,” PPP’s Altaf Qureshi said. He said it was not the PPP’s fault that Arsalan spent millions on her girl friend he had taken from Malik Riaz. “The judiciary should not set aside the supremacy of parliament rather it should accept its role defined in the Constitution,” he said.
While the contempt of court bill will be present in upcoming session of the parliament for approval, CJ Chaudhry has already given his verdict.

If I would be Mr.Z then I would do it before the move of Mr. Malik. Now, every one easily understand the sequence of events. But I truly believe that Mr. Z and his company will fail to handle the CJ. Ultimately CJ will give a lesson to Mr. Z.
Clash is a WRONG word used. Judiciary has to decide cases between two parties and this is what the SC is doing.
CJ has not given any verdict. Instead he has explained the legal position for those who want to understand.
