(Pak Destiny) As Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is struggling to come out of Panama verdict implications another controversy surrounded him in the form of Indian steel magnate Sajjan Jindal who held a ‘secret’ meeting with him in Murree yesterday.

The visit came against the backdrop of unabated violence in Jammu and Kashmir, which prompted chief minister Mehbooba Mufti to ask Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a meeting on Monday to talk to the Hurriyat and other stakeholders.

Jindal, who flew into the Islamabad airport in a private aircraft with a small delegation, from Afghanistan  was received by Sharif’s son Hussain Nawaz and Raheel Munir, a businessman who is the husband of Sharif’s granddaughter Mehr-un-Nisa.

Hindustan Times broke the story about the ‘secret’ meeting which was followed by the local Pakistani media. Imran Khan’s PTI jumped into action and demanded explanation from the premier to tell the nation what kind of meeting agenda he discussed with Jindal. It alleged that Kulbushan Jadhav, Indian spy, matter discussed as Jindal conveyed the message of Indian PM Narendra Modi.

Maryam Nawaz, the premier’s daughter, tweeted: “Mr. Jindal is an old friend of the Prime Minister. Nothing ‘secret’ about the meeting & should not be blown out of proportion. Thank you.

When Nawaz Sharif last visited India for the oath-taking ceremony of Narendra Modi as prime minister in 2014, even then the Pakistani prime minister had dropped by to see the Jindals in New Delhi. Jindal was also behind between Nawaz-Modi Dec 25, 2015 Lahore meeting.
