PCB mafia active to save ‘suspected’ players – Sethi gives other players clean chit to save PSL

By Iram Salim

(Pak Destiny) Powerful mafia in the Pakistan Cricket Board has come out to protect all ‘suspected cricketers’ to save Pakistan Super League.

PCB ‘de-facto’ chairman Najam Sethi has declared in his latest tweet that no more players would be sent home after Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif. So much so even some of his tout sports analysts have started saying that tussle between Shahryar Khan and Sethi resulted in sending two cricketers home. Nothing could be more shameful for PCB.
PCB which under Sethi fought the case of tainted Muhammad Amir and brought him back in the team despite criticism from saner elements like Rameez Raja showed Sethi’s love for tainted cricketers.
Sethi said in his tweet: “No more player suspensions are envisaged during PSL PROVIDED there is no NEW cause for action.”
There has been talk about players’ corruption but who will name the PCB bigwigs who have been involved in corruption since long. Former cricketers Javed Miandad and Amer Sohail have dared to tell how PCB mafia is involved in corruption in the cricket that uses cricketers too.
Sharjeel and Khalid Story of Fixing: It was a story of just two million rupees for two dot balls.
Sharjeel and Khalid Latif, the players of defending champions Islamabad United, were not just suspended for their contacts with the bookies but they were also involved in the spot-fixing. Sharjeel had struck a deal with bookies to play two dot balls in the first match of the Pakistan Super League and getting Rs2million in return.
Sharjeel played four balls in his first match against Peshawar Zalmi taking single on one and the playing two dot balls before Hassan Ali got him LBW on the fourth ball he faced. The person with whom the players met and reached a deal is also a Pakistani national. It was the ICC’s anti-corruption unit that unearthed the dealings of these players with the bookies who notified it to the PCB upon which the PCB took a prompt action and suspended both the players and sent them back home till further investigations.
Let’s see how PCB under Sethi’s influence tries to cover up this scandal again. – Pak Destiny
