(Pak Destiny) Today Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan told a press conference that there is “complete civil-military consensus” on the Dawn leaks inquiry report – is this consensus permanent? This a million doallar question after the conclusion of Dawn Leaks saga.

Nisar further said: “It wasn’t as big of an issue as it was made out to be. Complete consensus on the inquiry report. The order released from the PM’s Office, it was an order to all ministries. The notification should not have been spread. When that happened, there was a misunderstanding that snowballed and was rectified yesterday.”
Was it not a really big issue… then why a hue and cry over it for the last seven months.

Ch. Nisar further said: “It wasn’t as big of an issue as it was made out to be. Complete consensus on the inquiry report. “

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor yesterday announced withdrawing the ISPR’s tweet rejecting the prime minister’s directives on the recommendations of the report of the inquiry committee set up to probe the publication of a Dawn story regarding a top-level meeting of civil-military leaders.
Anchor Arshad Sharif questioned “Was ISPR declared the army’s surrender over the matter. How come this settlement happened?”
Nisar told media men: “You shouldn’t make a joke of civil-military relations. It is a sensitive subject, not just in Pakistan but in the world. There shouldn’t be any politics in it, and there isn’t anywhere in the world except in Pakistan.”
But reports suggesting there is ‘many a slip between a cup and a lip’ … the relations between the army and Nawaz government are not ideal as being portrayed after the ‘settlement’ on Dawn Leaks. Many predicting that they are getting worse because the army has accepted the ‘outcome’ of the issue for ‘larger interest of the country.’
The bubble of ‘consensus’ between army and PML-N government will so be pricked. — Pak Destiny
