Shehryar promises punishment for Sharjeel, Khalid and co but not ready to send home corruption kings – Amir, Asif and Butt

(Pak Destiny) Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shehryar Khan today declared ‘exemplary punishments will be handed out to players accused of corruption if they are found guilty by a tribunal’, will someone ask him how can he do so while the PCB is protecting the other convicted players like Amir, Asif and Salman Butt.

“The PCB took the lead in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) scandal, unlike the time when the International Cricket Council (ICC) had caught three Pakistani players involved in the 2010 spot-fixing scandal,” Shehryar said but he failed to tell what action PCB is going to take against the trio. “Shehyar should have also announced action against the trio but setting any moral standards or punishment for Sharjeel and Khalid Latif,” says a former cricket.
The fresh scandal of Pakistan Super League emerged when Islamabad United’s Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif were caught red-handed taking Rs2m from a bookie to play three dot balls.
“We took action as soon as we had sufficient evidence. The two boys that were sent back to Pakistan took the same flight as I did and I told them how disappointed I was about their actions. The PCB does not take such scandals lightly,” Shehryar said but still keeping a mum how to make a uniform policy to address the issue of corruption among the cricketers and PCB.
One hopes that there should be one and uniform policy for all players … no selectivity Mr Sheryar and Sethi. – Pak Destiny
