Islamabad, Aug 26 (www.pakdestiny.com) PPP’s Faisal Raza Abidi continues committing contempt of court by using abusive language about Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry on TV talk shows. But Mr Chaudhry seems to have given him a license to condemn him at any forum. Mind it he (CJ) does mind when someone else dares to malign him or judiciary.
The poor Babar Awan and Malik Riaz must be wondering what the hell they had done that the CJ rushed to charge them with the contempt but he is patiently receiving all the insult Abidi is hurling at him.
“Compare what Babar and Riaz said for which they were charged with contempt and the language Abidi is using about the CJ he can be charged 100 times with contempt for that,” says a senior politician.
Then why CJ Chaudhry is reluctant to take action against Abidi. It is a million dollar question.
“There is probably a few possible outcome if the CJ initiates contempt proceedings against Abidi. First, Abidi on his appearance in contempt case he may start using abusive language against the CJ and talk about his corruption and other personal things in front of media and others.
Second, summoning Abidi in court may prove fatal for his son Arsalan’s corruption as Abidi in no mood to spare him taking his (Arsalan) Rs900 million corruption every where.
Third, CJ Chaudhry is really afriad of Abidi and perhaps he knows that Abidi has proof of his and his son’s corruption and he can’t afford his appearance in the court.”
All political circles including PTI and PML-N are at loss to understand as why the CJ is silent over Abidi’s insulting remarks about him and his son.
