PCB’s naive move to appoint ‘tainted’ former cricketer Wasim Akram ambassador of PSL

(Pakdestiny) One still wonders as why Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to nominate legendary but alleged ‘match-fixer’ of his time Test cricketer Wasim Akram as ambassador of upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The PCB has said it has received consent from over 40 international players however the event will accommodate 25 foreign players for its first edition. The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is first ever commercial cricket event of Pakistan Cricket Board that is scheduled to be held in Qatar in Feb-March 2016.

Shahryar-led PCB must go through justice Malik Qayyum’s report which barred the PCB from giving any position to Akram. He was even stripped of captaincy in early 2000 for his alleged involvement in match-fixing. This can only happen in Pakistan – honouring gamblers and match-fixers. Hope the PCB will take some sense and reverse its decision. Pakdestiny
