(Pak Destiny- Exclusive) Under the burden of numerous corruption scandals in the Pakistan Railways and cases pending in superior courts, Khawaja Saad Rafique, railways minister, has reportedly made plans to divert the attention of the authorities concerned from his ‘wrongdoings’.
Recently, the minister got engaged a good number of the railway CBA union workers and PML-N activists of his constituency to ‘invade’ Royal Palm Golf and Country Club Lahore in violation of the Lahore High Court order.
Feeling so embittered over the LHC order, which allowed the Royal Palm administration to run the club, the minister’s PML-N activists and CBA workers besieged the club on his order last week warning the administration to vacate the club or face consequences. The Lahore police however did not come to the rescue oft he employees.
the LHC should take notice of the minister’s tactics which is tantamount of contempt of court.
“These PML-N men on the behest of Saad Rafique wanted to invade the club in order to create a scene on the national media that the railways had only one issue – Royal Palm – and multi-billion corruption scandals which recently have been surfaced should be over looked,” says a retired senior officer of Pakistan Railways.
The officer told Pak Destiny that the LHC should take notice of the minister’s tactics which is tantamount of contempt of court. “Saad Rafique cannot be allowed to send his party and railways workers to attack Royal Palm to achieve his ulterior designs,” he said adding if Mr Rafique thinks that corruption scandals would be swept under the carpet through such actions he is seriously mistaken.

On the other hand, the Royal Palm will request the court to call in Punjab Rangers to protect the club of international standard where foreign golf teams come for different competitions. The management is also pondering to directly request to the core commander Lahore and director general Rangers to seek security and protection in the face of Punjab police’s failure to enforce law and letting Rafique’s hand-picked PML-N and railways workers to put lives of the club employees in danger and a potential threat to the property.
Interestingly, the Railways has introduced a new lawyer A K Dogar, who is also the counsel of Jamaat-ud-Dawah cheif Hafiz Saeed, and filed four new applications aiming to delay the proceedings.
An insider in Railways said the minister had also chaired a meeting of the railway officials to use all tactics to ‘create a situation’ to influence the court from giving a verdict against his actions against the Club.
Meanwhile, some applications have been submitted in the National Accountability Bureau about the corruption scandals like that of signalling system and Chinese Locomotives in the railways . (Pak Destiny)

It’s not a new thing to say corruption scandal of khawaja saad rafiq. He is by habit and by face looking a corrupt guy who got its politics only with the cause to make money. Over all,scenario if observed PMLn and its cabinet ambitiously engaged in corrupt activities with the name of democracy which is more shameful.
