Indian producer Rakesh Upadhyay set to make biopic on Imran Khan

An Indian producer Rakesh Upadhyay is all set to make a biopic based on the life of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan.

Recently, the producer who is known for his films ‘Khiladi 786’ and ‘The Shaukeens’ met Khan at his Bani Gala residence to seek permission for the biopic which was eventually granted to him.

Earlier, the producer s visit was misreported as a collaboration with the former cricketer s wife Reham Khan for a film, but clarifying the purpose of his visit Rakesh said, “I d like to clarify that I am not producing any movie with Reham Khan. Although I do want to work in Pakistani film industry in near future.”

“It was nice visiting Pakistan, the people here are wonderful and I was here to seek approval from Imran Khan to make a biopic on him. The idea to make a film on international level is that Imran Khan is a global icon.” he added.

Reham Khan also took to twitter to clarify the point.

Another biopic “Kaptaan” directed by Faisal Aman Khan is yet to make its way to cinema screens. The biopic explores the politician s life and his transition from a cricketer to leading his party PTI.
