Jaffar Iqbal – tipped to be new Punjab Governor

Islamabad (PakDestiny) Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has finally finalised the name of Chaudhry Jaffar Iqbal from south Punjab for the slot of Punjab governor.
Official sources told Pak Destiny that Mr Iqbal had been extended ‘VIP protocol’ after the prime minister unofficially declared him Punjab governor. Iqbal was a senator to be retired this March but the PML-N had not awarded him ticket for the Senate, indicating that he will be given Punjab Governorship.
The slot got vacant after Chaudhry Sarwar quit last month and joined Imran Khan’s PTI. Sawar was critical of the Sharif brothers for their poor governance.
Jaffar Iqbal is senior vice-president of PML-N. He is the son of Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal, and a member of a Gujjar family of Chillianwala, Mandi Bahauddin. He was born on December 25, 1955. He completed his basic education from Sadiq Public School, Bahalpur and completed his graduation from Government College Lahore. He started taking part in the politics from the District Level and was elected as Member District Council of Rahim Yar Khan in 1983 with the record votes. In 1988 he was elected as MPA of the Punjab Assembly and became the Adviser of the Chef Minister, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for Establishment S &GAD. Pak Destiny
