Little patriots paint the town green and white

As Pakistan prepares to celebrate its Independence Day, children across the country are turning streets, schools and homes into a sea of green and white.

Dressed in Pakistani flag-themed clothes, green-and-white shalwar kameez and colourful outfits, children proudly wave miniature flags and wear badges bearing the crescent and star. Many have their faces painted with the national flag, while others sport green-and-white ribbons, caps and wristbands.

Some children decorate their bicycles and scooters with flags and balloons, while others join Independence Day rehearsals, singing national songs and chanting patriotic slogans.

With bright smiles, painted faces and tiny flags in their hands, the children bring a special colour and innocence to the celebrations, turning August 14 into a day of happiness, pride and hope for Pakistan’s future.
