(Pak Destiny) Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s Executive Committee chairman Najam Sethi must have realised after being booed by the Pakistani youth outside The Oval that people hate him for being grabbing the top slot in the PCB as it is not his ‘cup of tea’.
Since Sethi may be a top anchor and journalist he should better be serving in his profession instead of putting himself in the shoe of cricketers and spoil the game the Pakistanis loved the most.
Sethi said he was “manhandled, pushed and shoved” by a group of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters at The Oval after the Champions Trophy final between Pakistan and India that Pakistan won by a margin of 180 runs.
“I was manhandled, pushed and shoved by a small group of PTI supporters. Police pulled me to safety. Overwhelming love and affection though,” Sethi tweeted yesterday.
A video posted by the official PTI account on Twitter showed Sethi arriving at The Oval and a group of charged Pakistani fans chanting “Go Nawaz Go” slogans. “Spotting Sethi after a glorious win, jubilant Pakistanis burst spontaneously into Go Nawaz Go outside The Oval,” PTI tweeted.
Isn’t it enough for Mr Sethi to shun the idea of becoming the PCB chief this August when Shehryar Khan relinquishing the office.
Sethi has already said goodbye to the Geo News to assume the job of PCB chairmanship. Hhe has expressed his wish to Prime Minister Nawaz who reportedly ‘okayed his appointment’. Sethi must give a second thought before assuming the PCB chairmanship. – Pak Destiny
