The voice behind hit Bollywood songs such as London ‘Thumakda’ and ‘Jee Karda’, Punjabi singer Labh Janjua was found dead in his Mumbai apartment.
Bollywood mourned the death of 57 year-old singer Labh Janjua, who was discovered from his Goregaon, Mumbai apartment dead on Thursday morning. The 57-year old singer’s body was discovered by his friend, who had taken him to Cooper Hospital. Police were investigating the cause of his death.
According to his Janjua’s friend, he had taken the deceased singer to the hospital after he was not feeling well.
“He was not feeling well so I took him to the hospital last night where he was diagnosed with acidity. In the morning I got a call from his wife, who stays in Punjab, saying he was not answering his phone. When nobody answered the door, we called the police and discovered he was dead,” he revealed.
Labh Janjua was a popular Punjabi singer, who hailed from Khanna in Ludhiana. He skyrocketed to fame with his song Mundeyan ton bach ke rahin which was produced by Punjabi MC. He was also the voice behind popular songs from hit Bollywood movies such as Dance Pe Chance from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Soni De Nakhre from Partner and London Thumakda from Queen.
Needless to say, prominent members of the Indian film industry were grieved to hear about his loss and mourned it via tweets.
