After Senate defeat, Maryam finally realises that she can no longer fight against the establishment

The shock defeat for the opposition as Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani survived a motion of no-confidence is enough a message to Maryam Nawaz and others that they cannot fight with establishment.

Now Maryam would have realised that the game the PMLN used to play is now PTI is playing.

Hours before the final result, the resolution to move a no-confidence vote against Sanjrani had been passed comfortably by opposition senators, with 64 voting in its favour.

Requiring only 53 of the 64 senators’ votes to send Sanjrani packing, the opposition instead fell three short of three votes when the results of the secret ballot were announced.

The final vote count was 50 votes in favour of the motion, five votes rejected, and 45 cast against.

It is time for Maryam and company to accept the reality and try to create an opportunity to work with the establishment on the old salary as running a campaign without the umbrella of the establishment isn’t her cup of tea. Pak Destiny
