Another broadcast media -Neo TV- slapped with fine for fake news… will such news channels mend their ways mere fine of Rs1m

The Neo TV is slapped with Rs one million for running a fake news about Prime Minister Imran Khan’s salary increase.

But the major question arises… is Rs1m enough to teach a lesson to the media especially the broadcast not to run fake news in the future. But certainly such an amount isn’t enough.

The broadcast media is governed largely by the vested interest of the owners who are only concerned to make money and enter into power corridor.

The PTI government needs to fix the fake news business. Since the broadcasters linked with PTI used to target it’s opponents in the past seems to be shy laying strong elements on them.

Fake media is often synonymous with social media but one must not forget that conventional and broadcast media is equally using this to achieve its vested interests. Pak Destiny
