Islamabad, April 29 (Pak Destiny) Geo Anchor Iftikhar Ahmed has made a ‘fake’ story of Taliban threat to his life in order to pressure Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for ‘foolproof’ security.
Iftikhar told law enforcement agencies that two men intercepted his car in Lahore and warned him of speaking against Taliban.
“There has been no witness to the claim of Iftikhar. In fact after attack on Hamid Mir, fearing for his life Iftikhar got desperate to get security. For this he concocted this story to pressure the PML-N government for foolproof security,” sources in Punjab government told Pak Destiny.
Iftikhar should better show some courage. He always preaches rule of law and constitution and is never tired of strengthening democracy but like his name sake – former CJP Iftikhar Chaudhry – he too keen to get protocol and foolproof security. Isn’t it a big shame.
As the Punjab government earlier bribed Iftikhar Ahmed to speak in PMLN’s favour by making him Vice-Chairman of PHA (Parks and Horticulture Authority) it is likely that it will provide him ‘huge’ security from the tax money of the people of Pakistan. – Pak Destiny
