(Pak Destiny) Finally Prime Minister Imran Khan has offloaded the burden from his ship and sent special assistant to the prime minister (SAPM) for information Firdous Ashiq Awan home.
Questions are being raised whether she is removed because of making a lot of money in the release of advertisement dues to different media houses. Local media is not giving much importance to the reasons behind the outgoing adviser as they are running after the new appointees — Senator Shibli Faraz as federal information minister and Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa as SAPM.
The big question arises here who will be the incharge/boss of the information ministry — Bajwa or Faraz. Going by the past record, one gets to respond that it will be Asif Bajwa who will be calling the shots and Shibli Fraz will be his deputy.
A first notification issued by the Cabinet Division on Monday said: “The prime minister … has been pleased to appoint Lt Gen (Rtd) Asim Saleem Bajwa as special assistant to the prime minister on information and broadcasting, in [an] honorary capacity, with immediate effect.” A second notification read: “The prime minister has been pleased to remove Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan from the office of special assistant to the prime minister on information and broadcasting, with immediate effect.”
With this induction the PTI consolidated it position on the information front. Bajwa, a retired Lt Gen Bajwa had served as Commander Southern Command before his retirement. He remained the director general of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) from 2012 to 2016. In November last year, Bajwa was appointed by the government as the chairman of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority (CPECA), which comes under the planning and development ministry.
Bajwa has the capacity to deal with the media owners and anchors speaking different language. Faraz’s role be that of a docile nature. He will be happy to serve Mr Bajwa in straighten the matters with media. Shibli is the son of the late)poet Ahmed Faraz.
Poor Firdous will be going at her home in Sialkot. PPP is the happiest party seeing her booted out as she was regularly taking on Zardari and Bilawal. Pak Destiny
