Jang and Geo media group Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman and so called journalists Ansar Abbasi and Aamir Ghauri will have to pay the price for pleasing the Sharif family?
The three along with former Gilgit-Baltistan chief judge Rana Mohammad Shamim will be charge sheeted by Islamabad High Court on Jan 20 in affidavit case in which Shamim accused former CJP Saqib Nisar of giving punishment/sentence to Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz under pressure.
IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah has observed: “The liberty and independence of the press is of utmost importance, because it guarantees the independence of judiciary and ensures enforcement of other fundamental rights. But as noted it is not absolute and definitely does not license a journalist or publishers of widely circulated newspaper to prejudice sub judice proceedings and obstruct or interfere with the administration of justice.”
Now Abbasi like journalists who at the behest of his masters target certain personalities will face music perhaps for the first time.
Ansar Abbasi used to get away with his journalism crimes in the past with the help of personalities like former CJP Iftikhar Chaudhry but this time he may not.
Mir Shakilur Rehman and Abbasi like persons are defaming journalism profession and they are using it to achieve their targets set by someone else. PAK DESTINY
