Moonis wonders how just one NAB’s notice exposes ‘so-called paper lion and Khadim-e-Ala,’

     (Pak Destiny)  As ‘cries’ of Shahbaz Sharif has been echoing since he appeared before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore yesterday in a mega land corruption scam, opposition leader Moonis Elahi says how one NAB’s notice exposed the ‘so-called paper sher (lion) and Khadem-e-Ala ’.

“This is only one notice of multi-billion land scam suspect (Shahbaz) by NAB but the way he is crying for being summoned, one wonders what will happen to this Sharif junior if he is convicted in this mega corruption case,” PML-Q parliamentary leader in Punjab Assembly Moonis Elahi said.

He said the Sharif brothers are happy to frame their opponents in fake corruption cases but when they (Sharifs) are called by NAB for their alleged corruption they start crying and intimidating.

Commenting on Shahbaz Sharif’s appearance before a NAB investigation team, Moonis said the Sharifs appear to be self-contradictory when it comes to accountability of the corrupt. Instead of defending himself before the NAB in multi-billion rupees corruption in Ashiyana Housing Scheme Shahbaz is threatening it, he said.

The self-styled Khadim-e-Ala’s role has been in question in award of illegal construction contract of Ashiyana-e-Iqbal to M/S Lahore Casa Developers a proxy company of Railways Minister Khwaja Saad Rafique after ordering cancellation of contract to the successful bidder M/S Ch. Latif & Sons that resulted into a cumulative loss of Rs905 million to the exchequer.

Moonis Elahi said the NAB is also probing the award of consultancy services of Ashiyana e Iqbal project to M/S Engineering Consultancy Services for Rs192 million whereas actual cost as quoted by NESPAK was only Rs35 million. “Shahbaz was not summoned by NAB on tea to give him a clean chit but to question him over his alleged corruption,” he said, adding Shahbaz may not get away this time from corruption he had committed. Several other projects in which he had committed corruption will soon see the light of the day.

Moonis has shown mirror to Shahbaz for his tall claims that if he is accused of Rs1 corruption he should be hanged. “NAB has accused Shahbaz of millions of corruption in Ashiyana Housing Scheme. Now what punishment he suggests for himself,” Moonis said, adding the way Shahbaz is sweating on one NSB notice imagine what will happen if he faces corruption case in court,” he said.

Shahbaz Sharif after being grilled by NAB yesterday tried to prove his innocence before media and not NAB. What a pity both brothers fighting their corruption cases in media instead of court. — Pak Destiny
