Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Central President and former Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has strongly condemned the desecration of the Madani Mosque in Islamabad, holding PM Shehbaz and  Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi responsible for this.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Mr Elahi said that Pakistan was built in the name of Islam. “Such an act under the supervision of the government in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is a matter of great shame. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Mohsin Naqvi and the federal cabinet are responsible for the desecration of the mosque,” he said.

Parvez Elahi said that this was not a matter of any one party or politics, it was a matter of protecting mosques and faith, it was the duty of all Muslims to raise their voice against the desecration of mosques.

He further said that the government should fear the wrath of Allah and refrain from such actions. “I appeal that Madani Mosque be built immediately at this exact location. On Friday, all people should come to this mosque peacefully and offer prayers here,” he said.
