— Technical glitches and poor planning tarnish PSL’s reputation
— PCB’s amateur event management leaves PSL fans disappointed
— Mohsin Naqvi’s divided focus derails PSL’s flagship event

The PSL Draft 10, which should have been a flagship event showcasing the professionalism and grandeur of Pakistan’s premier T20 league, turned out to be a massive disappointment due to poor management by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
From technical glitches to subpar presentation, the event fell short of expectations, tarnishing the reputation of what is otherwise a celebrated cricket brand.
The event was riddled with audio issues, making it difficult for the audience to follow the proceedings. Microphones malfunctioned, sound clarity was poor, and coordination between the anchors and production team appeared chaotic. These recurring glitches reflected a lack of preparation and proper technical rehearsal.
The overall presentation lacked the finesse expected from a global cricket brand. Hosts and panelists appeared ill-prepared, with frequent on-air fumbles and poorly managed transitions. Graphics were outdated, and the flow of the event was erratic, creating confusion among viewers.
Instead of building excitement, the event came across as a hastily organized affair. The lack of attention to detail—ranging from the stage setup to the visual and sound quality—was evident. Such negligence sends a poor message to sponsors, international players, and fans alike, diminishing the league’s credibility.
Throughout the live broadcast, there were glaring mistakes, such as incorrect player stats being displayed and mismatched team logos appearing on screens. Additionally, camera work was shoddy, often missing key reactions or cutting to the wrong angles, making the viewing experience frustrating.

Failure to uphold the PSL brand
The PSL is a highly valued brand, not just in Pakistan but also globally, attracting international players and viewership. Events like the draft are an opportunity to enhance the league’s image. Unfortunately, PCB’s poor handling of this event has done the opposite, reducing it to a laughingstock among fans and critics.
The disappointing execution of PSL Draft 10 has led to widespread criticism from fans, journalists, and cricket analysts. A poorly organized event not only affects viewership but also harms the PCB’s reputation as a professional cricket body capable of hosting international-level events.
The PCB owes an apology to the fans for delivering such a substandard show. As custodians of Pakistan cricket, it is their responsibility to uphold the league’s standards. Moving forward, the board must:
The PCB must take immediate steps to learn from these mistakes and prevent them from recurring.
A high-quality PSL is essential for Pakistan’s cricketing image, and poorly managed events like this only undermine years of hard work. Fans deserve better, and so does the league itself.

Naqvi’s performance under scanner
The disappointing execution of the PSL Draft 10 further underscores the lack of effective leadership within the PCB under Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. Naqvi, who is also serving as Interior Minister r, seems unable to juggle two demanding roles effectively. His inexperience in sports administration and divided attention between PCB responsibilities and governance as Interior Minister have contributed to the mismanagement on display.
Mohsin Naqvi’s lack of experience in cricket administration has become increasingly evident. Running a high-profile cricket board like the PCB requires full-time commitment, strategic vision, and a thorough understanding of the intricacies of managing a globally recognized sports league. Unfortunately, his limited knowledge and inability to delegate effectively have resulted in poor decisions, such as the underwhelming organization of the PSL Draft 10.

Divided Focus
Balancing two critical roles— Interior Minister and PCB Chairman—is an unrealistic expectation.
Governance as an Interior Minister requires constant attention to pressing national issues, while PCB leadership demands a hands-on approach to ensure smooth operations, especially during flagship events like the PSL. The result has been a noticeable decline in the PCB’s overall functioning, as Naqvi’s attention remains split between two equally demanding jobs.
Under Naqvi’s leadership, the PCB has shown a lack of professionalism, evident in several areas. PAK DESTINY
