Now the PTI government has indulged in petty politics teaching a lesson to the voices in media against it.
The latest example is changing the underpass name which was named after Geo News anchor Hamid Mir’s father Waris Mir.
The Buzdar administration was asked to change its name and he duly complied.
The new name is Kashmir underpass of New Campus Punjab University.
Imran Khan and company should rise above such petty politics. The Sharif brothers were known for this kind of politics.
Now PTI government is on the footsteps of PNLN. Pak Destiny

Waris Mir supported sesssion of East Pakistan and creation of Bangladesh. I was a student in Punjab Universty in those days.
Shaukat N Tahir I read Waris Mir extensively. He only supported rights of Bengalis. He was against sending army to E Pakistan to suppress them (something India is now doing in Kashmir). He was against killing and raping them. Waris Mir always fought for the right cause. He stood up against Zia regime when no one dared speak or write a word. And he paid for it.
Today I feel so ashamed that when the Boots were marching in the streets of E Pakistan I was raising slogans in the streets of Peshawar in favour of the Junta in Islamabad.
Abdul Wahab Khan I respect ur opinion, but I have first hand knowledge of his statements that were carried those days by the print media from the Journalism Deptt of PU. Sentiments were charged against Mukti Bahini and its Indian support and Waris Mir’s pro Mukti Bahini statements were condemned by pro Pakistan Intelegencia, Academia public opinion makers and political leaders of those days. That very picture is still in front of my eyes.
Shaukat N Tahir it was very courageous of the man to take a stand that the whole nation was brainwashed into supporting. What Indians are doing in Kashmir we did the same in E Pakistan.
… and Mukti Bahni did in E Pakistan, Kashmiris are doing the same. We condemn one and support other. What should we call it?

Abdul Wahab Khan u know very well, Kashmiris case is not identical as of Mukti Bahini, created n trained by India.
Wahab Khan, Truth has always been punished by the powerful … Waris Mir did go against the narrative of only power in Pakistan; the military… Surprisingly it took them a long time to settle their score and try to erase the truth … I also now come across some posts on the facebook regarding how Pakistan’s pious and innocent Army was the victim of malicious propaganda of ‘liberals’ and ‘enemy’ … this renaming of the underpass is also part of that campaign …. we are good a rewriting history every 10-15 years but unfortunately these immature efforts by uneducated powerful men have already destroyed the very fabric of the state …
Waris mir was s traitor at best I too was at the Punjab university then. It is no surprise that traitors like him won favours with the sharif clan .

Let us get away from this tongue in cheek style of arguement . The Bengalis were never traitors some charletans made them look so not are the Sindh’s nor Baloch. But people like Waris mir are another story
