(Pak Destiny) The nexus of the PML-N government and Jang/Geo media group today again exposed in the Supreme Court when it (SC) said that it had itself formed the Joint Investigation Team to probe the Panama scandal to probe Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his children’s off shore holdings.
“We constituted the joint investigation team (JIT) and we are not afraid of any type of consequences,” Justice Ejaz Afzal said, responding to The News/Jang malicious story by Ansar Abbasi in which he openly tried to malign the judiciary alleging the heads of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan and the State Bank were ‘pressured’ by a caller who identified himself as the Supreme Court registrar into submitting the names of two JIT members who have repeatedly been accused of bias by the ruling Sharif family.
“The SC itself had issued directions to the registrar for constitution of JIT,” Justice Afzal said and strongly took notice of the “misleading campaign” (the Jang/Geo media group running at behest of the PML-N) being run in connection with the JIT. “Strict action will be taken against whoever mocks the judiciary,” he judge warned.
The Supreme Court should summon Ansar Abbasi the author of the anti-judiciary malicious report in The News and Jang to ask who was behind this conspiracy – Mir Shakeelur Rehaman and Pervaiz Rashid or Abbasi did it on his own for his love for Nawaz Sharif and PML-N.
It is very easy to see who is behind this story. State Information Minister Maryam Aurengzeb this week urged the SC to take notice of Ansar Abbasi story and find out whether the SC registrar made call to the heads of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan and the State Bank. It clearly shows the PML-N government fed that malicious story to Abbasi who acted like a an obedient tout of the Sharifs and ran the story without any verification. It is pity the way so-called senior journalists like Abbasi are being used by the ruling elite.
Let’s see if this media group stops maligning judiciary after this SC snub. – Pak Destiny
