Moonis Elahi’s advice to ‘Twitter girl’ Maryam on Kashmir issue

     (Pak Destiny)  There has been an advice for ‘Twitter girl’ Maryam Nawaz from Moonis Elahi that she should take up the Kashmir issue with her father, Nawaz Sharif, instead of lecturing Pakistanis on it.

In response to her tweet in which she condemned the Indian forces’ brutality and said “Pakistan was, is and will remain advocate for the Kashmiri people,” Moonis who is PML-Q parliamentary leader in Punjab Assembly, reminded her that she should better tutor her father and not others on the Kashmir issue.

Moonis Elahi said: “I hope you (Maryam) can explain that Pakistan is an advocate for the oppressed Kashmiris to your dad (Nawaz Sharif) as well. While he was the prime minister he was busy courting the same people – Indian premier Narendra Modi and company – who have been and are butchering Kashmiris.”

Mr Moonis said the Indian forces killed 20 unarmed Kashmiris on Sunday last and that should not go unnoticed. “No matter how much atrocities India commit against Kashmiri people the day is not far away when they will get freedom.” He also reminded Maryam that although her father is no more a prime minister but still her N-League is ruling Pakistan. “What stops the N-League government from raising this matter in the United Nations and other international forums, and lodging strong protest with the Modi government,” he asked and further said both father and daughter may not lodge any kind of protest with India as Modi is their friend. “But let me tell them that Pakistanis as nation are with Kashmiri people. Whether the N-League government extends any support to the oppressed Kashmiris or not we will continue raising voice for them here and abroad,” Moonis said.

Is something practical can ever come from Nawaz and company to redress the grievances of the Kashmiri people is a question asked by many. – Pak Destiny
