Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has been kept in a small cell of Lahore’s camp jail without basic facilities reportedly in order to persuade him to leave Imran Khan. But he is standing firm with Mr Khan despite extreme hardships and pressure.
For the last 15 days or so the former chief minister has been kept in a small cell in the Camp Jail Lahore.
Who wants him to stay in that condition is no more secret?
On Tuesday he was brought to the court in a case of illegal appointments in Punjab Assembly, where he told reporters: “I was kept in a small cell of the jail with no basic facilities for over two weeks. Inadequate medical facilities had been provided to me when I was taken to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) with a cardiac complaint. I am denied the right to see family members in the jail,” Mr Elahi said.
Although Chaudhry Parvez Elahi always showed generosity towards his political opponents especially the Sharifs but when he faced this testing time his opponents appeared to be ‘small men’.
The military establishment with whom he had excellent relationship once seems to be no more bothering him since he chose to stay loyal to former premier Imran Khan.
Mr Elahi looked frail on his court appearance but his spirits were high. It is learnt that utmost efforts afoot to break his resolve to stand with Khan.
The Chaudhry family is facing extreme hardships but not willing to surrender….they are showing a real character. PAK DESTINY
