(Pak Destiny) Punjab University interim vice-chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran has made another attempt to secure consecutive third term in office by obliging known journalist Mujibur Rehman Shami who is very close to the Sharif brothers.
Kamran has appointed the daughter of Shami as director Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) Punjab University in violation of varsity rules just to get favour from Mr Shahmi who has promised to speak to Punjab Chief Minister to give Mr Kamran third term in office.
Sawara Shami who comes fifth in seniority and also not a PhD degree holder has replaced Dr Noshina Saleem as director ICS, thanks to ongoing favouritism in the Punjab University.

As Dr Noshina was made a ‘scapegoat’ in award of grace marks in PhD and MPhil exams 2016, the VC ignored the other four seniors – Dr Azmat Rasool, Dr Bushra, Dr Abida and Dr Waqar Malik – and gifted the directorship of ICS, PU, to Sawara Shami who comes fifth in seniority and her academic qualification is also not up to the criterion of directorship.
Even some ICS students have protested this decision.
Sources said it is very much likely that someone from the faculty may move the court against this gross violation.
It will be interesting to see if Mr Shami really helps Dr Kamran grab the PU vice-chancellorship for the third consecutive time after securing big favour for his daughter. – Pak Destiny
