The reason behind quitting of AAP channel by senior journalist and former chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board Najam Sethi has been known and it is not unusual. A simple spat with none else but ‘short-tampered’ Aftab Iqbal, the apparent owner of the channel.
Sethi who after losing the PCB job got the refuge in AAP which is yet to be formally launched bickered with Aftab when he tried to bully him.
I am no longer at AAP NEWS. But I have a lot of affection for AFTAB IQBAL and wish his Team all the best. I will start my show on CityNewsNetwork’s national Channel 24 in March.— Najam Sethi (@najamsethi) February 18, 2019
“Frustration started creeping in when supply of funds from the AAP business partners stopped at least temporarily. This frustration led to a quarrel between two top guns – Sethi and Aftab. Sethi wanted to bring in chaps like Muneeb Farooq and some other journalists on lucrative salary package which Aftab refused. On this they bickered and Sethi decided to quit,” a senior journalist told Pak Destiny.
Now Sethi has joined a B-category channel C24 of Mohsin Naqvi. Let’s see whether he helps improve the rating of this channel. On the otehr hand Aftab Iqbal is now all in all in AAP. Pak Destiny
