(Pak Destiny) Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has swung into action to protect the sanctity of the army ordering the cyber crime wing of Federal Investigation Authority to take immediate action against all those dishonouring the Pakistan Army through social media after DG ISPR Asif Ghafoor announced withdrawing of his controversial tweet on Dawn Leaks and declaring that this matter has been ‘settled’.

“Constitution provides guarantee of freedom of expression but security and defence matters and relevant organisation can not be subjected to criticism and no citizen can indulge in any such activity that has negative impact on the prestige, repute and respect of the armed forces. Ridiculing the army or its officers under the garb of freedom of expression is unacceptable,” Nisar said.

Yesterday federal state information minister Maryam Arungzeb had warned that FIR will be registered against those involved in criticising the army over Dawn Leaks. Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority too had warned the TV channels for running any talk shows or other content against military or government in the wake of settlement between the two institutions on Dawn Leaks.
