Tariq Jamil succumbs to women pressure, tenders apology over his vulgarity remarks

Mualana Tariq Jamil took five days to finally tender apology from the women of Pakistan for his offensive comments.

In the PM Telethon on April 23, Jamil had said that Conronavirus like diseases are wrath of God and these come when vulgarity and obscenity in country like us is common.

His comments sparked outraged as women and rights activists demanded apology from him. Earlier he had to apologise from media for calling it lair.

Jamil said: “Recently I made some comments that I wish to clarify
My aim was to point out that WE are all to blame for our current state. It was meant to be a general remark not targeting any specific men, women, persons or gender, but as a reminder to get closer to what Allah teaches us.”
His apology was welcomed by many.

Federal Minister of Human Rights Shireen Mazari said: “Thank you for the clarification. Really appreciate it. You have many followers & this will send a clear message to any who seek to misinterpret your words to target women. In the same spirit, even though my tweet on the issue of women being targeted did not mention you.”

It’s a good spirit. And hope clerics wouldn’t blame women for every wrath. Pak Destiny
