Like the previous regimes the Imran Khan government appears helpless in nailing property tycoon Malik Riaz for his any wrongdoings. An this time he refused to undergo Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) for Covid-19 on his arrival at Lahore airport on his chartered plane.
Lahore airport manager Akhtar Mirza on Monday wrote to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) headquarters in Karachi complaining that Bahria Town CEO Malik Riaz, his wife and one other refused to give samples for the Covid-19 test even when a team of airport health staff went to his residence for the purpose.
Riaz along with four other people landed at Lahore airport on his chartered plane from Dubai on Sunday evening.
CAA duty staff requested Riaz and those with him to undergo rapid diagnostic test which detects the presence of an antigen and gives results in five to 30 minutes but they did not respond and rapidly moved towards international arrivals exit gate, said the airport manager and informed “Malik Riaz, Bina Riaz and Shahid Mahmood Qureshi left the airport without the test which is an open violation of NCOC instructions and SOPs”.
Lets see if the CAA dares to take action against Malik Riaz.
This is not the first time Riaz embroiled in a controversy. Earlier his family women allegedly thrashed a model and her sister for having affair with his son in law.
Before that his name appeared in illegal occupation of land in Sindh and he also settled some property dispute on the UK against 0ver $200million.
Still many at the helm of affairs and power that be are at his side.
