“Shame on ARY” was the top trend on Twitter on Tuesday.
The trend on social media was the reflection of the UK court decision slapped on ARY UK for defaming PMLN‘s Ishaq Dar.
Salam Iqbal‘s ARY UK issued an apology to former finance minister Dar admitting that “its allegations of corruption and misuse of authority against Dar were fabricated”.
The defamatory remarks were made in two news shows aired by the channel on July 8, 2019 and Aug 8, 2019. In the latter programme, Powerplay of Arshad Sharif in which advisor to PM Khan Shahzad Akbar had alleged that “Dar had managed and actively impeded the work of the Financial Monitoring Unit in Pakistan by preventing institutions from accessing the systems”. Besides Dar had taken these steps to protect individuals involved in the Choudhury Sugar Mills money laundering case.
ARY UK yesterday made a formal apology saying Dar never managed the Financial Monitoring Unit… never impeded [its] work, nor did he do anything to protect anybody in any case including the alleged Choudhury Sugar Mills case”.
“We unconditionally apologise to Mr Ishaq Dar for the significant distress, upset and embarrassment which these broadcasts have caused him,” ARY said.
After this Salman Iqbal should publicaly l apologize for propaganda news his cannel had been running for the last five years or so.

This shame is not enough for @ARYNEWSOFFICIAL. In back 2018 a British courthouse approved a consent order of Ary wherein this was pleaded Ary was agreed to hefty fine. ARY was sued by Mian Mansha for Maligning on said channel.

He should either do honest journalism or quit. Iqbal should not become a stooge at the hands of the powers that be.
