- PML-N wanted to blackmail PML-Q over Panama Leaks
- Daniyal also wanted to settle old grudge against the Chaudhrys of Gujrat

(Pakdestiny.com) It was Daniyal Aziz‘s brainchild to manage ‘some media houses’ to run the name of PML-Q parliamentary leader in Punjab Assembly Moonis Elahi‘s as part of the second list of the Panama Papers.
Going through the second list of Panama Papers, Moonis name is not there. Even Pervaiz Elahi, former deputy prime minister and central leader of PML, threw open challenge to the N-League in a press conference in Lahore to prove that any member of his family had an off-shore holding.
Then how some mainstream TV channels ran Moonis‘s name prominently as part of the Panama Papers‘s fresh list revealing 259 Pakistani having off-shore companies. “It was Daniyal Aziz, one of the core member of the PML-N government media team, who took onboard a few mainstream channels to run Moonis name and in a result rest of the TV channels followed the suit,” a high placed source in the ruling party told Pakdestiny.com.
Following day despite having no evidence Daniyal Aziz held a press conference in Islamabad and showed newspaper clippings to declare that Moonis name is in Panama Leaks and now the opposition has no justification to raise finger at Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s children for having laundered billions through off-shore holdings.
Although he was asked in the press conference to show the list of Panama Papers where Moonis name is, Daniyal simply had no answer.
“Daniyal who is more loyal than a king, floated the idea to the prime minister regarding dragging Moonis name in this quagmire in order to put pressure on Chaudhrys of Gujrat, who carry weight in the establishment, and stop them from demanding probe into Panama Leaks and the PM Sharif’s resignation,” the source said, adding Daniyal who made fortune for his loyalty to Gen Musharraf switched sides once the former army chief was no more in power. “To show his loyalty to the Sharifs he goes extra miles. Besides, Daniyal also wanted to settle old grudge against the Chaudhrys by doing this mischief.”
Another PMLN source said: “Although Danyal has been going all out, he still hasn’t been made minister as promised.” He further said some of Daniyal’s colleagues told him that “you still need to do some more ‘Chamcha Giri’ to get something more on your plate from the N-League.”
On the other hand with the release of second episode of Panama Papers the troubles of Nawaz government could not be minimized rather further compounded.
Opposition is unanimous over constitution of a commission to probe Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz and Maryam Nawaz’s off-shore companies and millions of dollars they allegedly stashed to London from Pakistan illegally. The PM now has to submit to the parliament on coming Friday to clear his position which does not seem to be easy. — Pak Destiny
