Garrison Lahore and Poonch Rawalakot universities sign for academic and cultural exchange

LAHORE: A significant leap toward community welfare, Lahore Garrison University (LGU) has recently formalized two pivotal collaborations, underscoring its commitment to tackling health challenges and fostering academic unity.

  Simultaneously, LGU has extended its academic footprint by forging an alliance with the University of Poonch Rawalakot.

    Dr. Amir Mehmood Bajwa, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at LGU, emphasized the broader implications of this collaboration, stating, “This partnership is not merely an academic agreement; it’s a cultural exchange that aims to promote a deeper understanding between our institutions. Through student and faculty exchange programs, we envision a harmonious collaboration that transcends borders.”

   Prof Dr. Zakria Zakir, Vice Chancellor of the University of Poonch Rawalakot, echoed this sentiment, saying, “We are excited about this collaboration with LGU. Our shared commitment to academic excellence and cultural exchange will undoubtedly yield positive outcomes.”

The LGU also has entered into a crucial partnership with the Punjab Thalassaemia and Other Genetic Disorders Prevention & Research Institute, focusing on the imperative health issues linked with consanguineous marriages. Director General of PTGD, Dr. Hussain Jafri, expressed the profound impact of this collaboration, stating, “This partnership with LGU signifies a strategic step in addressing genetic health challenges. Together, we aim to disseminate knowledge and engage in community outreach programs to raise awareness about the health risks associated with genetic factors in cousin marriages.”

     Vice Chancellor Lahore Garrison University Major General (Retd.) Muhammad Khalil Dar HI(M) added, “Our commitment goes beyond traditional education. By partnering with PTGD, we aim to actively address health challenges associated with genetic factors and contribute to a healthier society.”

   He further said:”Our commitment transcends traditional education. By partnering with the Punjab Institute of Thalassemia, we aim to raise awareness and actively address health challenges associated with genetic factors.”
