Retired Lt Gen Faiz Hameed has made a dabang entry in his hometown Chakwal on Thursday where people urged him to join politics.
Several speeches were made on his arrival after his retirement recently.
His area people asked him to join politics. They said they were hoping that he would become an army chief but wasn’t God’s will and now he should serve the people by joining politics.
There has been a two years ban on any government or army official to join politics after retirement.
#FaizHameed was the top trend on social media on Thursday after his appearance in Chakwal.
A Twitter said sarcastically: “Original Chairman & actual owner of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf, ex DG ISI Faiz Hameed has officially joined politics (PTI).
It’s important to mention here that Army officers are not allowed to engage in politics within 2 years from the date of their retirement.”

Another user said: “Ik claimed that then military establishment was in contact with the PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif to topple his government and plot against his government became clear following the removal of Lt Gen rtd Faiz Hameed as ISI chief in October 2021.”
