How Biden was impressed by Parvez Elahi's work in Punjab

Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has recalled US President Joe Biden and other Senators’ visit to his house in 2008, showering praise on his governance as Punjab chief minister especially in the areas of education, health, agriculture and infrastructure development.

Deputy Assistant for Pakistan in the US Embassy Lesslie C. Viguerie on Monday called on Parvez Elahi in Punjab Assembly and visited new building of Punjab Assembly. The new building is the biggest house of Pakistan and Asia.

“It is a matter of happiness and honour to have become first diplomat to visit this building,” Leslie C. Viguerie said.
He was accompanied by US Consul General Lahore Ms Catherine Rodriquz and Economic Officer Ms Molina Salvador.
During the meeting MNAs Moonis Elahi and Salik Hussain were also present.

Leslie C. Viguerie and Mr Elahi discussed matters about prevailing political situation and Punjab Assembly’s new building.

Ch Parvez Elahi told the delegation “US President Joe Biden had met me in February 2008 at my residence, he was a Senator at that time and other Senators John Kerry and Chuck Hagel were also with him, he had praised my measures as the Chief Minister Punjab in education, health, agriculture and infrastructure development sectors.”

Parvez Elahi said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its bilateral and friendly relations with USA, civilian and military leadership of Pakistan together is promoting new strategy on “geo-economics” this is a point of view through which emphasis is laid on regional trade and connectivity and stress is laid on that Pakistan is an important country for business.
Thanking Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi for hospitality, Deputy Assistant for Pakistan in US Embassy Leslie C. Viguerie said that to be the foreign diplomat to be the first the guest in the new building of the Punjab Assembly which is the biggest House in Asia and Pakistan is a matter of happiness and honour for me.

During Mr Elahi’s era 2002-07 Punjab progressed well and even Shahbaz Sharif tried to emulate him (Elahi) but failed. PAK DESTINY
