(Pakdestiny.com) Pakistan Finance Minister Ishaq Dar faced acute embarrassment when International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief Christine Lagarde today made an honest opinion about Panama Papers.
“Panama Papers and Bahama Leaks are a matter of honesty, transparency and accountability” Christine Lagarde said on the final day of her maiden two-day visit to Pakistan at a press conference alongside Ishaq Dar in Islamabad.

“And that is the best way to go forward whether it is Panama or Bahama or whatsoever,” she said in response to a question regarding involvement of Pakistani leaders in Panama Papers scandal.

Dar was taken by surprise by her comments and got upset how to respond. It appeared that moment that Ms Lgarde is also demanding accountability of Nawaz Sharif for his family’s off-shore holdings.
Dr tried to to save the skin of the government over the Panama Leaks by saying “there is no justification of the political agitation regarding the case”. He said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) sit-in in Islamabad on Nov 2 will cause inconvenience to the people and affect business and economy.
Poor Dar must have been thinking that Ms Lagarde should have chosen some other day to speak on Panama. – Pak Destiny
