By Sarmad Ali

The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority has imposed Rs1million on Geo News and also directed it to broadcast apology for running a slanderous news related to purported video of NAB chairman Justice R Javed Iqbal.

Anchor Shahzaib Khanzada in his late July programme had questioned as why no investigation has been launched on the video involving NAB chairman Iqbal and an accused woman.

The PEMRA took action on the complaint of NAB. PEMRA penalized Geo News for its irresponsible behavior.

PEMRA also directed Geo News to not only broadcast apology on this matter but also devise an editorial mechanism to anticipate such blunders in the future.

Khanzada is doing bold programs but this boldness has a price that his organization is paying. Pak Destiny
