“Keen interest of Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik in women led to his divorce to Indian tennis champion Sania Mirza,” says father of Sania Mirza.
Malik seems to have nothing in his defence. Malik had been in news for his different affairs like Ayesha Omar for recent times. However, the news came out finally.
Sania Mirza says she and cricketer Shoaib Malik have been divorced “for a few months now”, a day after he announced his marriage to actor Sana Javed on Instagram.
Mirza and Malik were married in April 2010 with wedding ceremonies held in both Pakistan and India. The couple welcomed their first child in 2018.
“Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye. However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have been divorced for a few months now. She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead!” read a statement posted by Mirza’s father Imran.
“At this sensitive period of her life, we would also like to request all fans and well-wishers to refrain from indulging in any speculation and to respect her need for privacy.”
Sana Javed was previously married to singer Umair Jaswal.
Interestingly Malik is being criticized for his third marriage. He was trolled to a great extend on social media.

I no longer believe in love marriage. Think what Sania Mirza must be going through. Allah should have given you better than him. What happened was good. @MirzaSania #ShoaibMalik #SanaJaved #SaniaMirza pic.twitter.com/StXp7iiILz— Malaika Malik 🇵🇰 (@mpti_23) January 20, 2024
Seriously! No one can change a man,it's in his nature to cheat, to look for the second woman after the first and then the third,Sania did so much for Shoaib Malik, she was a bigger star than him, and he first flirted with Ayesha Umar and then married to this girl.#ShoaibMalik… pic.twitter.com/lAwkSgvGjy— Nooray Fatima (@FatimaF99690) January 20, 2024
