Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has expelled Sher Afzal Marwat from the party over what insiders describe as a serious violation of party discipline. The decision was made after a series of internal complaints and consultations with the party’s core leadership.

Sources reveal that one of the key factors behind Marwat’s dismissal may have been his controversial remarks at a Swabi rally. During his speech, Marwat held the hand of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and declared, “We are the bad people who help in the bad times.” The statement reportedly stirred discontent within the party, with several members raising the issue directly with Imran Khan.

Party insiders suggest that the remarks were seen as divisive, potentially undermining party unity at a time when PTI is facing numerous political challenges. The incident, coupled with other unspecified allegations of misconduct, appears to have prompted Khan to take swift action.

This move signals PTI’s intent to maintain strict internal discipline as the party navigates a turbulent political landscape. However, it remains to be seen how Marwat’s expulsion will impact the party’s dynamics, particularly within its Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter, where tensions have reportedly been on the rise.
