Ousted prime minister Imran Khan was making a speech in Peshawar on Tuesday and the Shehbaz government got into action and blocked him on all.
“YouTube down. Internet chocked. Channels blocked.” That was Tuesday’s Pakistan.
Here is various response that tell the whole story.
Welcome to digital martial law in Pakistan, where @YouTube gets blocked each time a person that the establishment doesn’t like is speaking & their speech is live-streamed.— Usama Khilji (@UsamaKhilji) September 6, 2022
This is unacceptable paternalistic censorship that undermines constitutional rights #YouTubeDOWN #keepiton
So YouTube blocked again suddenly by this fascist Imported govt and its handlers. Really sick mindsets. IK speech will be heard one way or another you petty frightened political pygmies. Never thought State would use cyber warfare against its own people! Shameful. #EnoughlsEnough— Shireen Mazari (@ShireenMazari1) September 6, 2022
This Imported Govt blocked the internet & Cyberspace. Yet people found a way to listen to Khan's speech. The more you suppress free speech the more we will fight back. Your days are numbered. You have to face the wrath of the people.— Omar Ayub Khan (@OmarAyubKhan) September 6, 2022
Pakistan Government has once again blocked @YouTube just to stop people from watching #PeshawarJalsa speech of the most popular Pakistani political leader @ImranKhanPTI . What a shame, they will bring down whole IT sector down just to stop ppl from watching IK speech— Dr Arslan Khalid (@arslankhalid_m) September 6, 2022
What exactly is new in this speech that YouTube for the entire country had to be blocked?— Benazir Shah (@Benazir_Shah) September 6, 2022
An absolute and utter disgrace that @YouTube has been blocked in Pakistan.— Mosharraf Zaidi (@mosharrafzaidi) September 6, 2022
Imran Khan is a train wreck. But this censorship is worse than Imran Khan.
With all the unnecessary attention on this nonsense, imagine how flood victims feel.
YouTube is blocked during the speech of a political leader Imran Khan in Pakistan. Will you take any action on this matter? YouTube is being used for political purposes in Pakistan. @YouTube— Haqeeqat TV (@Haqeeqat_TV) September 6, 2022
YouTube down. Internet chocked. Channels blocked. Protesters assaulted & gassed. Journalists harassed. Hostage videos of teenagers aired.— Asfandyar Bhittani (@BhittaniKhannnn) September 6, 2022
Doesn't it seem that they are pretty scared of a guy who they proclaimed to the veterans, that he is no longer popular among the masses?
We are living in an era of unprecedented Fascism where rule of law & freedom of speech is trampled in a dictatorial manner. If this is not Banana Republic then what is?? Youtube blocked during country's most popular leader @ImranKhanPTI speech.#PeshawarJalsa— Senator Aon Abbas Buppi (@AonAbbasPTI) September 6, 2022
