Former PEMRA head Absar Alam who recently received a bullet in his belly told audience at the Asma Jehangir conference in Lahore last week that Gen Faiz Hameed had asked him to lift ban on fake Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain.
He told the story at length.

“When PEMRA banned Aamir Liaqut for hurling blasphemy allegations against journalists like Hamid Mir and Talat Hussain,” he said.
“Gen Faiz Hameed told me he wanted to come to my office. I asked DGs of PEMRA to prepare briefing but when Gen Hameed came he only asked me to lift ban on Aamir Liaqut Hussain. That was the whole story. But I refused to lift ban on him,” Alam said and does not stop here and said forme chief justice Saqib Nisar restored Aamir Laiqut. He indirectly alleged on Nisar for taking dictation on this matter.
